Before selection
Each offer needs age eligibility, dates, format, squad capacity, full family cost, support limits, cancellation terms and supervision.
Consider readiness, cricket ability, performance, role balance and availability. Preparation, age appropriate fitness, attendance and conduct expectations must be clear, with reasonable accommodations.
Use the approved selection process and at least two unconflicted assessors for individual decisions. Explain not being selected and the next development step.
The playing promise
Competitive match decisions pursue team performance. Equal playing time is not guaranteed.
Publish realistic roles and playing expectations before a family commits. Review actual opportunities afterward, including time on the field, batting and bowling exposure, and the next development need.
A squad place is specific to its season or event. Community connections and enrolled local development continue beyond that selection.
Selection questions
No. Donations, fundraising, volunteering, parent officeholding, sponsorship and coaching purchases carry no selection advantage.
The model is academy independent and open to unaffiliated players. Each competition’s eligibility and existing team commitments still need to be respected.
No. An approved event, sporting selection, available funding and documented eligible costs are separate requirements. No personal cash balance or automatic travel entitlement is created.
The published program policy should provide a procedural review for eligibility, conflicts, factual mistakes and application of criteria. It does not promise selection simply because a family disagrees.
